Our Mission

 

The Shaw Harbor Charitable Foundation is dedicated to empowering the future of Northern New York by providing scholarships to high school graduates and alumni from Jefferson, St. Lawrence, and Lewis Counties. We prioritize residents of the seven-town areas of Adams, Ellisburg, Henderson, Hounsfield, Lorraine, Rodman, and Worth. Additionally, we support local community projects through grants that uplift these regions.

Scholarship and Community Grants

Our foundation awards scholarships to help local students achieve their educational goals and provides community grants to support projects that enhance the quality of life in our region. We are committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.

Support Our Cause

Join us in making a difference. The Shaw Harbor Charitable Foundation, part of the Northern New York Community Foundation, gratefully accepts your generous contributions. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and are managed with utmost care by the Community Foundation.

The Shaw Harbor Charitable Foundation is a component fund of Northern New York Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization https://www.nnycf.org/.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available to:

  • Undergraduate or graduate students
  • 2-year or 4-year schools
  • Accredited trade or technical schools
  • Non-traditional students

The Scholarship Application process will be posted on the Northern New York Community Foundation website annually with a spring deadline for the fall semester.

Community Grants

First and foremost, the fund will support broad investments in the quality of life of the citizens of the geographic area specified above and efforts and endeavors which strive to make life better for all.

Community Grants are issued quarterly.  Please contact us to have an application for funding sent to you.
